Orientation is held on the last day of pre-planning and gives the student and parents an opportunity to meet and greet their teacher. Students/parents can view the room, drop off supplies, and receive beginning of the year information. This is the time to make a great first impression and give important information face to face. Orientation will last 30-60 minutes and gives time for parents to fill out paperwork that is necessary for the first day/week of school. Teachers should dress professionally.

Bulletin Board
At Chets Creek, teachers put up a "I Know Something Good About You" Bulletin Board for the first day of school. Orientation is a good time to have the students create something or have parents write something about their child so you can use it on the bulletin board.

Need to Know First Day/Week Info
  • Parent should fill out this label for the first day before leaving Orientation to tell you how each child is going home on the first day.
  • Example (2014) of a form parents should fill out before leaving Orientation that will tell you how they are getting home all week, eating lunch and a phone number for you to call.
